Frequently Asked Questions

  • I offer a complimentary 10-15 minutes consultation call for you to assess whether my approach and style best fits your needs. This consultation will allow you to share about your history and what you are looking to gain from therapy.

Once we establish that we are a good fit, we will schedule our initial session. During our initial session, I will spend time getting to know you and what you’d like to work on in therapy. In addition to getting information about what’s happening presently in your life, I’ll ask some questions about your personal history to get more context. I also leave time at the end of the initial consultation for questions and logistics.

  • I am an out of network provider, which means that I do not participate directly with any insurance plans. This allows me to provide highly individualized care for each patient without insurance dictating treatment.

Many insurance companies provide out of network benefits and reimburse for psychotherapy services by as much as 40-70%, depending on the plan. I will provide you with a bill at the end of every month that you can submit to your insurance company. I suggest you contact your insurance provider and inquire about the following:

    • Does my plan offer any out of network benefits for mental health?

    • Do I have a deductible and if so, has any of it been met yet?

    • How much will I get reimbursed per visit when I see an out of network mental health provider?

    • Do I need prior approval or a referral in order to get reimbursed?

  • I require at least 24 hours notice if you have to cancel your scheduled appointment. If not canceled within 24 hours, you are responsible for the full fee. This policy allows us to establish consistency and respect for one another’s time.

  • I offer both telehealth and in-person sessions. I am licensed in New York and New Jersey and I am able to see anyone with a permanent residency in either of these states via telehealth.
